Cards       Cards is not a game.   It is just a graphical display.   The cards themselves are identical, or at least, very similar to the ones used in Solitaire.       What's different?   For one thing, the location of the cards.   Mine are spaced evenly across the top of the screen.   (In the game, they are in the top right hand corner.)   I did this on purpose to give the display more balance and to allow the cards to have more of an opportunity to bounce before disappearing off the screen.       And then there is the speed.   Mine runs slower.   You might think 'Faster is better', but that's the whole reason for this program, because the Solitaire display runs too fast, so you can't really see it.       The third difference is that you can run Cards over and over as often as you want.   When it finishes each King, it pops up an X or an O at the top of the screen.   It pauses for 2 seconds, then clears the screen and starts over again.       Left click anywhere on the display screen, except on the card stacks at the top, to Pause the display.   Click again to restart it.   Right click to Pop-up the Menu.       There are two separate Height options on the Menu.   The first one controls how high the cards are allowed to bounce.   If you leave the default setting of (0), the upper part of the display will not be covered by the cards.   Higher settings will allow the cards to bounce completely off the screen.   Sometimes they will come back down and sometimes they won't.   It all depends on the bounce angle, speed and height.       The second Height option allows the user to determine if the display will automatically Increment the Bounce Height.   If left Un-Checked, the display will run as explained in the paragraph above.   If Checked, the higher valued cards will bounce higher than the lower valued cards.   In other words, the 6's will bounce higher than the 2's, the Queens will bounce higher than the 7's, etc. |
